6 Superstars Who Must Change Brands During WWE Draft

The 2020 WWE Draft took place in October 2020 so multiple superstars are in desperate need of a brand change. With reports growing over an upcoming draft at some point this year, stale WWE booking has created the need to do more meaningful roster moves. Although many will be subjected to a change, I came up with six that need the change more than others.

1) Asuka from RAW to SmackDown

Asuka was drafted to RAW as a part of the 2019 WWE Draft. She has held both RAW and SmackDown Women’s Championships as well as the Women’s Tag Team Championships with Kairi Sane. She was awarded the RAW Women’s Championship on the May 11th edition of RAW after Becky Lynch announced her pregnancy.

Asuka eventually lost the championship to Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania 37, thus moving her WrestleMania record to 0-4. After solidifying herself as the most dominant NXT Superstars and holding every championship for a female superstar to hold, I can’t help but feel that she is being completely mistreated on RAW. A fresh start on SmackDown is what she needs.

2) Bayley from SmackDown to RAW

If RAW is going to lose a dominant superstar like Asuka to SmackDown, it’s only fair for SmackDown to do the same. Bayley is the longest-reigning SmackDown Women’s Champion and will look to continue her dominance on the RAW brand. A move to Monday Night RAW sets up possible matchups with Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss, and current RAW Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley.

3) Bronson Reed from NXT to SmackDown

After defeating Johnny Gargano to win the NXT North American Championship, Reed would lose the title shortly after to Isaiah “Swerve” Scott. After working multiple “dark matches” before episodes of Monday Night RAW, it makes sense that his debut on the main roster is coming up. Going to the SmackDown Brand would be a perfect move for him.

4) Io Shirai from NXT to RAW

If we’ve learned anything, the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championships don’t get held for very long. The titles were introduced on March 10, 2021, and have changed hands four times in four months. Shirai and tag team partner Zoey Stark captured the titles by defeating Candice LeRae and Indi Hartwell at the NXT Great American Bash. Shirai and Stark may lose them very soon which leads to a main roster call-up to an already stacked RAW women’s roster.

5) Cesaro from SmackDown to RAW

This one may come as a bit of a surprise. I’m a huge Cesaro fan and think that he’s deserving of a Universal Championship run. Unfortunately, Roman Reigns will not be dropping the title anytime soon. In that case, a move to RAW makes sense. He has a better chance of winning the WWE Championship on RAW against Bobby Lashley than against Roman Reigns. Give Cesaro a World Championship run. The entire WWE Universe would agree with me.

6) Drew McIntyre from RAW to SmackDown

Drew McIntyre lost his last chance Hell in a Cell match against current WWE Champion Bobby Lashley. He and Lashley only feuded for a tad over two months but it feels like way more than that. McIntyre won a second chance triple threat against Riddle and AJ Styles to advance to the Money in the Bank match, thus earning yet another opportunity to face Bobby Lashley. If he somehow loses that match, WWE should answer all of our prayers and move him to SmackDown. He’s a very talented superstar but he hasn’t moved brands since his main roster debut in 2018. A fresh start on SmackDown is much needed.
