It has officially been announced at tonight’s Blood & Guts event that the number one ranking Britt Baker will get her shot at the AEW Women’s World Title. She faces the champ Hikaru Shida at Double or Nothing. This event is taking place at the end of the month on May 30.

Baker has been sitting firmly at the top of the AEW Women’s Rankings for the past couple of weeks. Ever since Tay Conti wasn’t able to capture the title on the April 21 episode of Dynamite, Baker climbed to the top spot.

Shida has held the title since last year’s Double or Nothing where she defeated Nyla Rose to become only the third champion in the history of the company. She sits currently at 347-days as champion and come May 23 she will hit a full year.

On tonight’s Blood & Guts, Baker had a match against Julia Hart. The match was quick and she came out with the win.
