Spreading out can’t hurt. Even though WWE has four weekly television shows, it also has more wrestlers than it knows what to do with most of the time. With so many wrestlers running around, it can be hard to find something for all of them to do. It also doesn’t help when WWE dominates the industry as they do. However, there might be a new partnership in the works.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE is in talks with Major League Wrestling (MLW) for a deal that would see underused developmental wrestlers work in MLW as a way to get some more exposure to fans. The idea is being explored because WWE has a reputation for not wanting to work with other promotions and are entirely focused on themselves.

WWE has had a similar plan before, including with ECW in the 1990s and Evolve in 2015. In Evolve’s case, some of the wrestlers who appeared for the promotion were Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins of the Street Profits, plus Fabian Aichner, now of Imperium. There is no word on when such a partnership would begin, assuming a deal is ever reached. MLW recently announced a new television deal with Vice TV.

Opinion: This is something that could be rather interesting and also opens some new doors for WWE stars. Working for MLW might not be the be all and end all that some of these wrestlers are used to, but it can do them a world of good to not wrestle the same matches with the same style. Let them learn from someone else and develop a bit better, as there is nothing wrong with mixing it up a bit.

What do you think of the plan? Who would you like to see wrestle elsewhere? Let us know in the comments below.
