WrestleMania 37 featured all kinds of twists and turns, including several title changes. That is not the kind of thing that you get to see every day and some of those changes could signal a new start in WWE. Some of the changes involved some first time title winners, who are just getting going on the start of their higher level WWE careers. That is going to require approval from McMahon, and he seems to have given it to one of his new stars.
During an interview with TV Insider, new Raw Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley said that McMahon told her “well done” after her WrestleMania match and told her she did great. Ripley defeated Asuka to win the Raw Women’s Title on the second night of WrestleMania, marking not only her first title on the main roster but also her first singles match as part of the Monday Night Raw roster.
Ripley has been with WWE since 2017 when she was 20 years old. She debuted in the inaugural Mae Young Classic and then participated in the second edition while sporting a version of the look she uses today. Ripley would move on to NXT UK where she would become the first Women’s Champion. After moving to the American NXT, Ripley would defeat Shayna Baszler to become NXT Women’s Champion. She made her main roster debut at the 2021 Royal Rumble.
Ripley is quite the star. Check out how she has done on the main roster:
