The main event of the second night of WrestleMania 37 saw Universal Champion Roman Reigns successfully defending the title against both Daniel Bryan and Edge. The match had been set up for several weeks now with Edge winning the Royal Rumble and then costing Bryan his shot against Reigns at Fastlane. That set up several stories for WrestleMania and it took more than one person to make those stories work.
According to Fightful Select, Paul Heyman played a huge role in setting the match up, as he does with most of Reigns’ matches. Reigns was always the planned winner for the match and the finish of the match was not one that was changed close to the time of the show. Heyman, Edge and Bryan all contributed to putting the match together. Bryan’s addition to the match was not confirmed until the week of Fastlane in March.
