Roman Reigns vs. Daniel Bryan official for Fastlane

After teasing Daniel Bryan possibly wrestling Roman Reigns for the Universal championship at the upcoming Fastlane pay-per-view (PPV) on Mar. 21, 2021, in St. Petersburg, Florida on Friday Night SmackDown last week, WWE went right back to it this week. Bryan was booked against Jey Uso in a Steel Cage match with the promise of a victory earning him the aforementioned title match.

Only this time, he actually won.

Indeed, after what was a pretty damn good cage match, considering it was on television, Uso tapped to the Yes! Lock after foolishly attempting a rope break. The referee kindly informed him that, sir, this is a Steel Cage match, and the rope break would not be accepted. Bryan cranked even harder and, right in front of Reigns, who was sitting cageside, Jey tapped.

Here we go.

Here’s the updated Fastlane match card:

  • Roman Reigns (c) vs. Daniel Bryan (Universal championship)
  • Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler (c) vs. Sasha Banks & Bianca Belair (Women’s tag team championship)
