Who are the candidates to win both WWE Royal Rumble matches?
Well, it’s that time again!
Outside of everyone being ready for a new year in general, the 2021 WWE Royal Rumble has the feelings of potentially being hotly anticipated.
It’s really interesting because one brand, Monday Night Raw, desperately needs that type of win to boost its brand even if it’s just a little bit.
Meanwhile, SmackDown, easily the superior brand right now, can do nothing but continue to elevate regardless if someone from the blue brand wins either one of the Royal Rumble matches or not.
So, what we’re going to is take a look at the top five people who should win the Royal Rumble in 2021!
We’ll take a look at Monday Night Raw first.
When It comes to the men’s side, there’s quite a few options actually.
Kofi Kingston and MVP immediately come to mind.
I don’t mind Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods remaining together on screen. However, both of them need to hop out of that tag team division for a bit. They both need something else to do.
Kofi Kingston, in particular, needs another chance at a big title. Let’s never forget how WWE allowed Kofi Kingston to win the WWE championship at WrestleMania, clearly had no real plans for him after the fact, and let a barely defending Brock Lesnar take the title from him in a match that wasn’t even 10 seconds long.
All of these Royal Rumbles that Kofi has participated in, it’s past time for him to actually win one! That’s one of the few things Kofi has yet to achieve. He’s more than earned it.
MVP makes sense as well. No offense to Drew, but it’s time for something else now.
With Cedric Alexander, Shelton Benjamin, and Bobby Lashley all holding a title, MVP is the only person in the stable to not have a title around his waist and it’s getting about that time.
It’ll be awesome to have an epic win at WrestleMania capturing the Universal Championship.
While Monday Night Raw’s men’s division has a lot of potential winners, it’s the complete opposite with its women’s division. The only real option in that entire division is Naomi upon her Monday Night Raw return.
Naomi is the only woman who makes sense.
The other women will literally do nothing to elevate the division that desperately needs elevating with that type of win. Let alone a WrestleMania championship match with either women’s champion.
On top of that, Naomi needs a push more than anyone in that division right now anyway. Her momentum was snatched due to medical issues which forced her to pause and step away.
She’s absolutely the best choice for that brand.
By the way, she would also make history if she successfully won. She would be the only woman to win the WrestleMania women’s battle royal and the Royal Rumble match.
So, keep your fingers crossed!
Now let’s look at SmackDown. They have fewer options in the men’s division. But, good ones.
It all comes to two people: Jey Uso or Jimmy Uso.
Jey Uso is going to get tired of how he’s been treated by Roman Reigns sooner or later. Or at least he better. That could be his motivation to win the Royal Rumble, take Roman’s title, and break free from the tribal chief.
Jimmy Uso would also make sense as well because he was never down for Roman’s “new attitude” to begin with. Something he’s made clear through his actions.
This is assuming he’s officially clear to compete in in-ring competition by the Royal Rumble (which is highly likely).
Jimmy could win the Royal Rumble and use that as a way to further confront Roman and face off against Roman at WrestleMania 37.
As far as SmackDown’s Women’s Division, like Monday Night Raw, there’s only one real option: Bianca Belair.
Bianca Belair has been skipped over for championship opportunities just about every turn on every brand. It’s Time.
The number of feuds with Bianca Belair as champion are plentiful. There’s not a woman in that division that Bianca couldn’t make magic with.
There’s no reason, WWE.
To recap, Kofi Kingston, MVP, Jimmy Uso, and Jey Uso are the best options for male winners, and Naomi and Bianca Belair are the best options for female winners.
Of course, there can only be one winner for each Royal Rumble. Good Luck!
